Who Did Jesus Die For?
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness….” (Genesis).
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them… (Genesis).
For He chose her in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined her to be adopted as His son, through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will.…He has made known to her the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ…(adapted from Ephesians).
Isn’t she lovely?
Isn’t she wonderful?
Isn’t she precious?
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we’d be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn’t she lovely made from love?
Isn’t she lovely?
Isn’t she wonderful?
Isn’t she precious?
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we’d be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn’t she lovely made from love?
(Lyrics by Stevie Wonder)
…that we might know the hope to which we’ve been called, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and His incomparably great power for us who believe… (Ephesians).
How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes behind your veil are doves. Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from Mount Gilead. …. Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon, your mouth is lovely. …All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you… You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace…How delighful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the frangrance of your perfume than any spice! Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride; milk and honey are under your tongue (Song of Songs).
You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride; you are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain. Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates with choice fruits, with henna and nard, nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with every kind of incense tree, with myrrh and aloes and all the finest spices. You are a garden fountain, a well of flowing water streaming down from Lebanon (Song of Songs).
Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens…(Song of Songs)
I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys…(Song of Songs).
…Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb….and he showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal….the wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emeral, the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls each gate made of a single pearl…. (The Book of Revelation)
We are each a precious jewel in her garment.
Do you see why Jesus considered her worth dying for? Do you see why the Father sent His Son to get her back? Do you love her? Isn’t she lovely?

WOW! My heart leapt with dumb struck joy when I read this in conjunction with the bridal gown picture. You’re the only other saint that I know of that has made the connection between the description of the New Jerusalem and the bridal gown of Ekklesia. It’s one of those revelations that, apart from sharing with Angie, I’ve had to keep hidden within my heart. That the bride of the Lamb would go from being a “she” to becoming an “it” (a building) has never sat well with my spirit. She is lovely indeed! Thank you Sis! His very best to you and our precious brother Derek.
Bless you dear brother. What a glorious revelation! Love your heart for Him and for His bride!
Wow, wow and double wow.
She is lovely and altogether beautiful. I see her and smell her in you, Derek and Jay. You guys are the welcome mat to a house I call home. When I enter into that place with you guys called fellowship I’m in a place purposefully perfected for Her to enter into. It’s a place in Him of pure intimacy and love. It’s a place to live by His life and express His life to each other. I love you endlessly.
I am so enjoying that fellowship with you in these creative ways and am inspired by Him through you sis, as He speaks His words of love and grace and wonder through the Bride artwork you have created of late. I am seeing her afresh all over again. Love you always x
Lovely!
