Is Jesus really the Answer?

Is Jesus really the Answer?

Have you ever been told, “Jesus is the answer”?

We used to sing a song when I was a kid;

Jesus is the answer to the question; Jesus is the promise that’s been fulfilled, Jesus is, Jesus is, Jesus is.

If you’ve followed my blog since the beginning, you’ll be familiar with how many times we’ve moved house and how many times the Lord shows Himself in the process or in the new environment. Many months ago, when we moved into yet another house here in Mayfield, Newcastle, we took up a residence with a very peculiar setup.

The house is an old Australian build, though nicely renovated, with a long hallway running from the front door to a back door. Outside the backdoor, there is a large, covered modern deck. At the back of the deck is a small cabin. Well, the cabin is rented separately to another tenant, and as part of her lease, she has the deck. So our leased area stops at the inside of the back door. Yes, rather strange, but I won’t go into it now. Suffice it to say God uses all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to HIS purpose!

Anyway, being a lovely old home, there is stained glass on the front and rear doors. This lets in beautiful colourful light into the hallway. It is particularly pretty at night when the outside lights are on. However, it also meant that anyone on the back deck could see us walking up and down our hall, and we could see them too. So, we needed a solution for privacy. Unfortunately, this meant covering the beautiful glass.

One day my sister, Perri, came to visit. I explained some of the challenges to her. Being a quick thinker and a solutions gal, she promptly suggested hanging a painting over the stained glass window over the back door. Of course! Great idea. But now, what to hang over it?

Wait a minute. I recalled that even though we’d lived in Perth for three years and sold almost everything and kept very little in storage, I kept a very old canvas painting of a frangipani flower that Perri had painted for me in the early 2000’s. I grabbed it, and Derek put it up on the window, and it hung perfectly. It was the exact size and weight that worked brilliantly.

The challenge was shared with my sister, Perri. She suggested the perfect solution, and the solution was Perri’s painting.

What is the moral of the story? Jesus is His own answer. Jesus is the solution to all our problems and challenges. But how? By His very own self. Ephesians tells us that God has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms, in Christ Jesus. God couldn’t and can’t provide us with anything more than His own life in His Son. There is nothing more that can ever be given to us. Nothing outside of Christ. God answers all our problems with Christ’s life in us to overcome, navigate, to rise above. Christ’s life in us is enough, more than enough. He has the solution, and He has given us the capacity BY His life in us to apply all that He is to our situations. No longer I that live, but Christ!

I pray that today, in whatever you face, holy ones, you find Christ to be your All in all.

🙂

  1. Woke up early to seek God’s will over a challenging day and how to ‘cope’ and what a blessing to read this…I have everything I need to cope already! In Jesus who lives in me! Very encouraged to turn to Him, lean on Him, and worship Him throughout this day.

  2. We would drown in endless questions leading to nothing but false answers if not for God in Christ being the real and only Answer to everything and everyone. This was very encouraging Sis! Thank you. Much love and blessings to you and our Derek.

Would love your feedback here
