My Gift to You: Reposted!

I’m Giving You a Heads-up!

My latest book, titled To the New Creation: Living out our New Identity, has just gone live on Amazon. And you have the opportunity to get your electronic copy at a DISCOUNT!

But more on that at the end of this post :-).

To the New Creation: Living Out Our New Identity

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, but I used to be a ‘Christian Counsellor’, which just meant that I learned how to use counselling skills coming from a Christian worldview—and received qualifications to prove it. I no longer practice, because in my view, the greatest, the only answer, is Jesus. And if I can’t give Jesus, I feel like I’m short-changing people. So, I’ll leave the counselling up to others.

However, once when I was working as a caseworker in a Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation centre, one of the residents asked me if I felt there was one common problem at the root of everybody’s issues who came for counselling. I replied that yes, I believed at the base of everybody’s issues, is the lack of identity.

Well, fourteen years on, that is still my answer, and I am convinced it applies as much to the church, if not more.

As the title suggests, this book is written to every member of the body of Christ, whom Paul describes as a ‘new creation’ (2 Corinthians 5:17). So, that’s you, and me!

The book’s goal is to re-awaken the body of Christ to her true identity in Him and to learn how to live in it. In that respect, I think the reader will find it highly practical and a crucial message of encouragement and exhortation for the times we are in, if we are going to rise above and walk in the ascendant life Christ has made available to us.

Jesus is the image of the invisible God, and we are Jesus’ image bearers. However,

‘If we don’t know who we are, we don’t know how to live, and subsequently we live substandard lives, and God doesn’t get what He’s after’.

The message of our new identity I call the gospel or, the good news for the believer, because once we receive the gospel of our salvation, we are to grow up into our salvation, from babes to sons. And that is all wrapped up in knowing our identity in Christ. What a partnership!

With just over 340 pages, To the New Creation is written to the more experienced Christian and goes into what God has accomplished through Christ, what the nature of Jesus is like and therefore, what we have now become in Him, and how to live in that amazing reality through the challenges and glories of this Christian life, just like the saints in the Scriptures demonstrated for our example.

To the New Creation follows on from my first book titled To the Young Believer: Beginning in the Spirit and I have made the two into a ‘To the Believer’ series on Amazon. I suspect there may be another addition over the next few years. Maybe even a co-write with Derek :-).

I Need Your Help

A while back I took myself off all social media, and so did Derek. That was for a number of reasons (which may become evident if you read the book) and I have to say, it feels great! However, it has removed the opportunity to make a wider audience aware of my books (and Derek’s), since we are utterly unskilled in the marketing department and have no passion for it whatsoever. We find it a real energy drainer! We are trusting the Lord will sow the seeds Himself, wherever and however He will.

As part of that, I would like to ask you to partner with me in the following three ways:

  1. If you read To the New Creation, please take a few moments to write a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads.
  2. If you find the book worth it, please recommend the book to others.
  3. Please join with me in praying that people will find out about this book and get a copy.

This is not about ‘making sales’ but about getting this much needed message out to the body of Christ through the medium of writing.

I also welcome your feedback to me personally by emailing me at totheyoungbeliever@gmail.com (even if you just want to say hi!) or simply by commenting on this post.

My Gift to You

As a way of saying thank you for following my blog, for your prayers, and for partnering with me in getting this message out, I am excited to let you know about the opportunity to purchase a discount copy of the eBook if you pre-order through Amazon before February 29th.

Now, because I’m not on social media and don’t have a marketing team or skills, nobody on the planet will ever find out about this discount unless they stumble across it in a search! So, you guys are the only ones to know about this pre-order discount, and I did it just for you 🙂

Once the eBook is officially released on February 29th the price will automatically increase, so, please take advantage of this opportunity! If you love electronic versions, this is the time to grab it.

However, if you prefer paperback versions (like I do), the paperback has just gone live, NOW! That will give you plenty of time to order, receive, and start reading before Easter, as a way of focussing on the glories of our risen Lord living in us!

So, to GET YOUR DISCOUNT, PRE-ORDER EBOOK NOW on Amazon, before its official release date of February 29th.

Click here for the Amazon Australia site or here for Amazon in the US. Otherwise, please visit Amazon for your own country.

Over the coming months, you will also be able to get a copy through:

  • GoogleBooks
  • Booktopia
  • Multiple other online bookstores
  • And God willing, eventually, there just might be an audio book!

A final word of encouragement…

You are a new creation. You are extraordinary! This body of believers we have become part of is mind blowing! Do you know why? Because of our new location!

Do you know that we don’t lack anything? Do you know we have been given life ABUNDANT? That life is ours for the taking RIGHT NOW—the resurrection life of our Lord Jesus Christ! What a life!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)
