We all need to remember to take one day at a time ay? I recall someone saying that it is God’s mercy to give us one day at a time. Why? Otherwise the accumulation of our short comings, the difficulties and trials that we encounter over one life long continuous day without a night of rest would overwhelm us.

In the beginning He created a morning and an evening and therefore one day at a time. This reveals His mercy to give us rest from those things that are too great to bear.

Jesus in scripture is called the “New Day”. He is also called the Bright and Morning Star.

He is also depicted as the lesser light that rules the night and also the Sun of Righteousness (Malachi 4:2) or the greater light that rules the day.

Now Jesus is our One Day at a time. He has borne our griefs, carried our sorrows, Isaiah 54. He is the God of all grace and comfort. He is our ever present help in times of trouble. Our friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Jesus on One certain Day was wounded for our transgressions, was bruised for our iniquities, and the chastisement that brought us peace was placed upon Him. Now by His wounds we are healed. He did all that in One Day.
