Don’t Mess With My Kids
My friend Rebecca shared the below testimonial with me and I thought it was just beautiful. Happily, she was ok for me to share it here with you. It really touched me and I pray it brings you an assurance of God’s ever watchful eye and love for His own, perhaps when you have been unaware or doubting His watchful eye, care and protection over you.
This verse shows the heart of our Lord when He spoke to Jerusalem in Matthew 23:37 saying;
…how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings (Matt 23:37)
Unfortunately, Jerusalem had rejected Him. But now since there is no longer Jew or Gentile in Christ, we as the body of Christ are collectively the New Jerusalem and we have come to know and love Him as our Lord and King, the Sent One from God above, and the love of the Father is now extended to all of us in the same heart expressed here by Jesus’ words – as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings.
Here is Rebecca’s testimonial.
Protection
When I was 8, I was at the Easter Show with my parents and they gave me money for an ice cream. The crowd was jam packed. I was very careful to navigate through the crowd to the ice cream shop and back to my parents, sure that my survival was entirely my own responsibility.
When I was 26 I went to a Christmas Carols event with my sister and her 8 year old son. It was crowded. She gave him money for an ice cream and off he went. As soon as he was a few meters away, she stood up and started watching him like a hawk. In my mind’s eye I could see an AK27 slung over her shoulder ready to take down any bad guys that would dare get too close to her much beloved. He couldn’t see her watching because he was walking away from her.
It occurred to me for the first time that not only was God’s protection much more enthusiastic than I thought, but because He watches from a bigger perspective, He sees threats that are outside my much smaller view.
Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go (Gen 28.15)

Short but loaded with truth. Amazing how the one who is walking away does not notice that ever watchful eye..
It’s a very powerful reality isn’t it? So comforting. He is so trustworthy. Thanks for your comment Virginia.
