Derek and I have just started a series there called The Servant and we are loving seeing the ever increasing view of our Lord, The Godhead and the Church in this aspect of who He is.
It is becoming more and more apparent to me that the heart of the Servant seen in Christ, is paramount to our knowing Him and how we the church are meant to function.
Did you know that God calls Jesus, His Servant?
Isaiah 42:1 “Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. …
Isaiah 49:3 He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.”
Isaiah 49:6 …”It is too small a thing for you to be my servant….I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.”
Isaiah 52:13 See, my servant will act wisely, he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.
And again in Matthew;
Matthew 12:17, This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah; “Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. …
The topic (for lack of a better word?) has been unfolding to and in Derek and myself over many, many weeks now and there’s no way it can be contained in one podcast episode. Even in the four episodes we have devoted to it (it might go further, who knows?) we know that of course we will have hardly even scratched the surface!
In fact, looking into Christ as God’s servant, and exploring Him as the Servant in His church is fascinating, unbelievably and astronomically enormous and it continues to grow bigger and bigger as we meditate on God in Christ, in this way.
I mean, can He get any bigger? Seriously.
If you want to drink from His well in respect to serving God, I really encourage you to tune in your ears, physical and spiritual, to this series. You just might find a refreshing in this area of your life, that you really need right now.
His yoke is easy folks, His burden is light. Let Him be the One to Serve, as you surrender deeper to Him and fall more in love with Him.
Love and blessings to all of you in Christ, our All in all.
